Do It Fabulously

image image image image image image imageHappy Friday! I’m so excited for Halloween weekend and dressing my little princesses up and loading them up with candy! Especially the part where I steal half of their candy! Can I get an AMEN from all the moms and dads? Don’t try to front like you don’t do it too!

I want to leave you with some words to consider over the weekend. They actually hit me pretty hard and I feel they’re so obvious and true so I have to share.

People overestimate what they can do in a single day and underestimate what they can do in their whole lives.

I realized this week that I just cannot do it all. So I will choose to do what I can, fabulously.

Have a great weekend! Make it count!

It’s Time to Fly

imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageDo you ever get filled with so much excitement from all the things that are going on, that you just feel like your mind is swirling around? That’s how I feel right now!

As things completely settle and fall into place, I will be able to share with you fully some of the new opportunities that have come my way. I just have to be patient and enjoy the process.

When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she had always been.

But she had wings.

Shorts Story

image imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageGood morning! Where are all my pineapple lovers at?

A few weeks ago I posted  some really fun pineapple swag. Everything from earrings to phone cases to shorts. I was so excited about the pineapple shorts, that I ordered myself a pair.

I waited with great anticipation for them to arrive and could hardly wait to rip the package open when it came. I love them! I think they are so adorable and will fit my lifestyle perfectly! Do you like them?

If you missed my original pineapple post and you want to see more objects full of pineappley goodness, you can check it out here.

I Cannoli Wear OPI

Happy Monday! Over the weekend I went to my favorite little bakery that I’ve found so far here on the island with my little ones. I’m a sucker for tasty treats and it doesn’t help when they are equally beautiful and decorated to perfection!

My manicure suited the outing perfectly. Don’t you think?

There is just something about the city that makes me swoon.

I want to go to New York and Paris and London and I want to feel the anonymity of being in a foreign city and being surrounded by hundreds of people who are going in a hundred different directions.

Hair Like Herve

Hi lovelies! Today I want to share a little hair inspo with you!

Last month, I may have alluded greatly to the fact that I was obsessed with Here Leger’s Spring/Summer 2016 show. The hair for the show was definitely at the top of my list from all that I saw. I just simply adored it!

Using my daughter as my muse, I’m going to show you a little step by step of how to recreate this look for yourself! It’s a piece of cake!

Start with a deep side part and texture in the hair. My daughter has natural curl and I chose to leave that texture in her hair for the style.

Next, at the back of the part, start a french braid coming toward the front of the head, only pulling from one side.image

As you work your way around the side of the head, make sure that you leave out some wispy bits around the hairline. You want it to look soft and airy, not overly done.

Once you get to the back, secure the rest of the hair with a ponytail holder, and wrap a piece of hair around it to hide the band from showing. Secure the piece of hair with a bobby pin.image image

Isn’t it beautiful?! I can’t wait until my hair is long enough to do this to! Until then, I’ll just have to play with my daughter’s hair! What do you think?

The really close ones. The ones that I can tell my deepest secrets to. There aren’t too many of them, but they mean the world to me.

It’s hard to be separated by an ocean from the people that used to be your clan. An even though a phone call or a text is nice, nothing is quite like being together, you know, in real life.

This post is dedicated to my loves. I think about you all the time. You know who you are 😉

The best kind of friendships are the fierce lady friendships where you aggressively believe in each other, defend each other, and think the other deserves the world. <3

A Taste of October

image image imageimageimageimageimageimageimage

Since October has started here on the island, I haven’t really felt that typical “fall” feeling that I usually felt on the mainland. I mean sure, a little bit has changed. An example would be; while it’s still in the mid to upper 80’s outside, the humidity level has dropped just enough that I no longer look like a walking ad for a deodorant commercial. Apart from that, it just seems like a never ending summer. I love it.

However, just because I love summer weather, doesn’t mean that I don’t want to participate in fall festivities! I was thrilled to find out that there are a couple pumpkin patches here on the island, so naturally we ventured to the nearest one. A bus ride later, we arrived at Waimanalo Country Farms, where we got to enjoy a whole new take on a pumpkin patch. It looked like fall, but island style.

There was a sunflower maze instead of a corn maze and fresh squeezed lemonade with numerous tropical fruit flavors to add, in lieu of hot cider.  My girls got to go on a cow train ride, and we got to have a ride in a golf cart back to our bus stop!

We had a wonderful experience! So fun to have a new tradition 🙂
