Give Thanks

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4

Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 106:1

Can’t Deal

image image image imageI can’t think of a better way to start of this Tuesday than by revealing my transformation! Surprise! I’m now a brunette again!

My hair has been silver for the past 2 months, and although I’ve adored it, the maintenance was just too much with my stylist being an ocean away. Since my natural color is dark brown, it seemed to be the wisest choice to just get as close to my natural as possible. It’s bound to lighten in the sun and ocean, but it should end up being pretty forgiving as it grows out.

I just looked at an “old” photo (no pun intended) of my granny hair and I kinda miss it already. I’m really glad that I got the chance to have it while I did. On the plus side, my hair will have a nice break from being bleached until it’s crying out for mercy, and I just might look like Rapunzel once again 😉

What do you think of my dark hair?

November Beauty Faves

Happy Monday! It’s that time again for my beauty faves for the month. These are products that I use daily or close to it, so I know they work!

  1. Biolage Cleansing Conditioner: This is and all-in-one paraben free shampoo and conditioner. I was really skeptical before I first used this product, because for me with hair products, more is more…ya feel me? I love putting lots of different things in my hair so I was unsure that this one product could deliver for me. Let me tell you, it works! You apply approximately 6-8 pumps into your hair, scrub your scalp, and then comb through your mid-lengths and ends. Let it sit for 5 minutes and rinse. You won’t be sorry.
  2. ‘ILI Coffee Scrub: This scrub is made from coffee as well as other natural ingredients. The natural properties of the coffee tone and tighten your skin, while smoothing out lumps and bumps. No further explanation needed!
  3. Bite Beauty Matté Lip Crayon: For some reason, I tend to have issued with red lipstick bleeding on me. I’ve tried everything from exfoliating my lips first, to adding concealer, lip liner, and blotting. I still struggle. But then I found this lip crayon and it changed everything! Long lasting color plus no bleeding! The color that I have is Fraise, but there are many other colors to choose from as well.
  4. HEMPZ Sweet Strawberry Créme & Brown Sugar Lotion: This lotion is a limited edition so you have to get it while you can! It smells phenomenal and makes your skin smooth. Maybe if we all write letters to HEMPZ, they will keep this scent forever!
  5. ORIBE Dry Texture Spray: This spray is my favorite dry texture spray. It also doubles as a dry shampoo AND is pretty much perfume for your hair. It’s an absolute must have for every girl.

That has been our motto this week. I never lack a moment of adventure when my mom is by my side. Partly because she likes to live on the fly with me and partly because even if she is hesitant, I make her anyway 😉

We attempted another crazy hike yet again, but sadly were stopped before we could reach our end point. I would love to go into full detail on the events that took place, but because we plan on a second attempt, I will save it all for when we complete it. What I would like to tell you, is I have never had this kind of adventure in my life…ever!

Do you like to escape and be free? Just go! You’ll be so glad you did. Please leave me a comment on your favorite places to adventure. I might just have to check it out too!

Diamond Head

image image imageimage image image image

Happy humpday! It’s kinda crazy to me that it’s already Wednesday, but time flies when you’re having fun!

On Monday, I climbed Koko Head with my mom as I shared with you yesterday. Now, although I walk a lot, my body is not conditioned to climb as we did. I figured I would be crazy sore the next day since my legs felt like jello by the end of our excursion. Surprisingly my mother and I woke yesterday feeling fantastic, so naturally we went on a new hike. (Not that we would have let sore muscles stop us. We are way too stubborn for that!)

Diamond Head was our next hike of choice. This hike is much easier than Koko Head. There were children we passed on the trail that were taking part, so that means pretty much anyone can do it! There are some stairs on this hike as well, but overall it’s a nice gradual incline. When we walked through the tunnel and went up the spiral staircase in the cement tube, I kind of felt like Nancy Drew out to solve a mystery! Lol!

This is a fun and safe hike, so make sure to do it if you’re in the area. Plus the view from the top is not so shabby! Tomorrow I hope to share something crazy we have up our sleeve, as long as weather (and authorities) permit us! Stay tuned!

Koko Head

image imageIMG_4454imageimageimageimageYesterday I shared with you that my mom is here on the island with me for a whole week! Of course we started it off with a bang by climbing Koko Head Crater.

The 1,048 steps are seriously no joke. It took us between 15-20 minutes to climb these suckers, and by the end of it I was definitely breathing heavy.

The sense of accomplishment and the view at the top was like no other. I highly recommend this hike for anyone looking to amp up their heart rate, while taking in the incredible surrounding beauty at the top.

Don’t forget to check back through the week to see what other adventures we take!
