Hi everyone! Can you believe that Christmas is only one week away??

Today I’ll be under the Wish Family Tent for Make-A-Wish Hawaii’s 4th annual Jingle Rock Run, to style little girls hair and make them feel like princesses for the race.  I’m hoping that the weather cooperates with us because I did see some rain in the forecast. Either way, I’m sure we will have a blast!

The dress I’m wearing today is my most recent purchase and I’m completely obsessed with it. I styled it with some gold kicks here for a cool laid back look. Like it?

My Christmas Dress

Hi loves! Life has been a little crazy for me lately, so I apologize for being MIA, but I’m back!

I’m soooo excited that Christmas time is upon us. It’s my most favorite time of the year (cue the music). Last weekend, my family and I kicked off the start of December by going to the Honolulu City Lights parade and took full advantage of the food trucks and rides for my babes. If you want to catch a peek of what Honolulu looks like around Christmas time, you can get a glimpse here.

On Sunday, my husband had his company Christmas party. I wore this plaid slip dress which made me feel perfectly festive. Needless to say, I’m pretty obsessed with it, and I’m looking forward to all the different ways that I can style it.

Winter Blues and Mermaid Hues

Happy Monday loves!

My parents came to visit me this last week, so I made sure to take advantage of my momma’s hair skills while she was here, and got her to give me a mini makeover. My hair had faded out, and I was slipping deeper and deeper into a hair slump. She gave me a blue hue that I had been coveting for a while, with Matrix Watercolors.

My new look reflects my inner mermaid spirit and matches the ocean I’m surrounded by. What do you think?

Rose Gold

img_8087 img_8287 img_8309 img_8188 img_8291 img_8310 img_8292 img_8214 img_8221 img_8293Last weekend I went to San Francisco to model for the Matrix show with Tabatha Coffey. I had been letting my hair grow without coloring any of the new hair for almost 11 months, so I was pretty excited for a change.

As it turns out, the artists at the show liked my rose gold hair from a couple months ago so much, that they decided to give me a spin off of that color. I think it’s perfect for this pumpkin spice season 🙂

What do you think of my color? Let me know in the comments below!

Hair to Remember

This moment is going down in my history book.

Earlier this year I made a resolution that I would not color my hair for a year. I’m currently 2 weeks shy of making it 11 months, and that’s a record for me in and of itself. But when I got asked to be a model for the upcoming  Matrix show in San Francisco, I had no choice  but to say yes!

I had to document this and have photo evidence of the longest I’ve ever gone without coloring my hair. On one hand I’m over it, but on the other hand I’ll miss my natural hair. All and all though, I’m ready for a makeover! Be sure to check back next week to see my new look!

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far!

I just wanted to share a little weekend style inspo with you. I’m super obsessed with these black distressed jeans I found at Zara. I bought them just a few weeks ago and I couldn’t find a link for them online, but they are in the store. At least they are at the Zara in Honolulu.

I’m off for a bit of shopping now and then I’m headed to the beach with my babes. The UV index is supposed to be extreme today, so we should be nice and baked come evening! My husband’s birthday was earlier this week (Happy Birthday babe!) and his choice for dinner this evening is wonton soup at our favorite Chinese restaurant. I can’t wait!

What are you up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments below!

Lesson Learned

This tale begins with a dress:

About a year ago I came across the most adorable LBD on Nasty Gal. I had to have it. But there was one problem…it was sold out! Terrible, I know.

I contacted customer support to ask if they would restock  the dress and found out that they sometimes bring back popular items, but I would need to continue checking back. I did continue to check back pretty religiously for the first couple months, and then about 1 to 2 times a month afterward. No luck. 🙁

Now comes my downfall. I found an image of my ever coveted dress online, but the head of the model was cut off in the photo. Curious, I went to the website to see what it was about. The site was called YOYOMELODY.  I knew it was too good to be true and that it was risky, but the price was so inexpensive that I decided just to order it.

The dress I’m wearing below is what I received. Luckily I don’t hate it, but I also don’t love it. And you’ll never guess what! Days after I got this dress in the mail, I discovered that Nasty Gal had brought the dress I wanted back, but it sold out again!! Why me?!

Here is the image of what the actual dress looks like from Nasty Gal.

I currently have myself on a wait-list for this LBD and my fingers are crossed that I can have it soon!

Have you ever fallen for a bad knock-off, or any knock-off for that matter? I’d love to hear your story in the comments below!
