My Tribe

A couple weeks ago I took my family hiking on the Kuli’ou’ou Ridge Trail. I had done it just a few days before that, and I loved it so much that I just had to bring them to it.

When I did the hike, we were in anticipation of hurricane Madeline coming through. Luckily it passed by us, but we still experienced quite a bit of wind and overcast skies. When I got to the top of trail, I couldn’t see the view.

The day that we planned to go as a family, we were blessed with gorgeous weather. The best reward? The view + our shenanigans at the top! This was such a great family activity. I love hiking with my tribe!

We didn’t realize we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.

A little peek into my hiking adventure this week just before hurricane Madeline came. Fortunately, she went around us.  Lester is on his way, but I hear he’ll miss us too. Good news all around 🙂

There’s no time to be bored in a world as beautiful as this.

Pali Puka

Saturday afternoon, my husband and I had a date and it was my turn to plan what we did. I’d been wanting to hike to Pali Puka, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Hiking to the puka itself was pretty quick. It’s pretty low difficulty in my opinion also. The only hang up would be if you have a fear of heights because you do walk along a ledge for a bit.

After we reached the puka and took in the view, we decided to follow the trail further and climb to the peak above it. That was a bit more challenging but so worth it!

I hope you enjoy these photos from our adventure!

Olomana Peeks

Yesterday I hiked the Olomana Trail with my friends. There are 3 peeks on the whole hike and we climbed each one. It was a major adrenaline rush as there was some rock climbing involved that I have never done before!

The weather, apart from being extremely muggy (due to the recent passing of hurricane Darby), was perfect for us…aka no rain! I hope you enjoy these few photos from my adventure!

Hanauma Bay Ridge Hike

Happy Humpday!

Just wanting to share some photos of the hike I did yesterday with my friends. We did the Hanauma Bay Ridge hike and it was my first time doing it. All and all it was pretty easy, but boy did my legs burn when going up the inclines!

I was the only one in the group brave enough to walk out on the rock bridge. The scary part is, as soon as I finished having my picture taken, a massive wave came crashing over the entire thing. I was soaked, but I survived! If you haven’t done this hike, I definitely recommend  it.  Just try not to die on the bridge 😉

Stairway to Heaven

Aloha Friday! This week has been crazy busy with my parents visiting me from the mainland. They will be heading back home this weekend, and I’ll be sad to see them go 🙁

Last week, I told you I had a fun filled week planned, which basically meant shenanigans were in order!  I’ve had a major bucket list item that I’ve been dying to check off for almost 2 years, and this week I did it. My mom and I climbed the Haiku Stairs, also known as the Stairway to Heaven, with 2 of my friends.

3,922 steps. It was one of the most, if not the most, exhilarating things I’ve ever done. Absolutely breathtaking. It felt like I was in a dream! I hope you enjoy these photos from our adventure!

PERSONAL NOTE: This is NOT a legal hike. If you are curious to read more about this hike, you can do so here.

Where Feet May Fail

image image image image image image image image image

I’ve had a lot on my mind lately. I like to live my life on the fly, but I also like knowing what’s going to happen. This probably doesn’t make sense to you, because it doesn’t make sense to me either. None the less, I’ve been feeling weighed down with the weight of uncertainty, and it’s a weight that I don’t need to carry.

I’m reminded of lyrics to a beautiful song by Hillsong.  I want to share them with you, so that anyone else that needs to be encouraged, can be.

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

image image image image image image image image image image imageHappy Monday loves! I can’t wait for this week to go by because my parents are coming to visit me next weekend, and they will be here for a whole week! I already have a fun-filled week planned for them, so it’s a countdown until they get here!

This last weekend was absolutely beautiful here on the island, so I made sure to take full advantage. My husband worked overtime, but that didn’t stop my girls and I from getting out of the house and heading to Kailua. I can’t seem to get enough of this beach. I know I should be venturing to other ones so I can make a better judgement if it’s really my favorite, and I do plan on it eventually, but this one just keeps luring me back!

I was feeling sporty, so I wore my Lululemon boogie bottoms and stole my husband’s hat for the day. I mean, he wasn’t there to wear it, so someone had to do it, right?  My girls and I even ended up playing catch with the football they brought to the beach. I guess I was dressed perfectly for the occasion!

I Said Yes…AGAIN

Last week, I shared with you that my 10 year anniversary was on New Year’s Day. The event has now come and gone, but I would love to share a bit of what happened that evening with you!

I’ll start by jumping straight to the evening…you know…the surprise part. After I finished getting ready, we were off to a mystery restaurant. Upon arriving, it was unveiled that we were dining at Azure in Waikiki. Our reservations for two, led us out to a beautiful patio right on the beach.

When we had finished our meal, Ben asked our waiter to take a photo of us over by the palm trees. After a successful snapshot, he asked our server to take just one more. He then proceeded to tell me the most beautiful thing I could hear, and got on his knee to ask me for 50 more years together! Naturally, I said yesssss! I about died when I saw that he got me a black diamond, which I’ve made comments about, but never thought he was listening to me!

The photos aren’t the best since it was so dark out, but I’m so glad that the moment was captured. It was truly one of the best moments of my life!

To style my hair, I used Matrix Style Link Smooth Setter and blew it dry smooth. I then sprayed Matrix Style Link Heat Buffer through my hair before curling my hair with a 3/4″ iron, keeping all the curls going in the same direction. When I finished curling it, I brushed my hair for about 20 minutes (no joke!) and smoothed Matrix Oil Wonders Amazonian Murumuru Controlling Oil through my mid-lengths and ends. The Style Link Heat Buffer has a light hold factor to it, which I found to be the real deal, because my hair held the same style from Friday until Monday!

I’m so happy with how my whole look came together! What do you think?

Back to the Future

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Being that it’s also the eve of my anniversary and Thursday, I decided it would be appropriate to do a throwback of some of my favorite moments with my man over the past 10 years!

As I was going through some of these old photos, I realized how many places that we’ve got to explore. I cannot wait for many more years of traveling and adventure with this one! Here’s to our future baby! But first, let’s take it back real quick…
