Winter Blues and Mermaid Hues

Happy Monday loves!

My parents came to visit me this last week, so I made sure to take advantage of my momma’s hair skills while she was here, and got her to give me a mini makeover. My hair had faded out, and I was slipping deeper and deeper into a hair slump. She gave me a blue hue that I had been coveting for a while, with Matrix Watercolors.

My new look reflects my inner mermaid spirit and matches the ocean I’m surrounded by. What do you think?

Happy Good Friday! I’m so grateful for this day! My family and I are going to a service being held at the  Blaisdell Arena by New Hope Oahu tonight. They will be having their Easter services there also and I’m pretty excited for all of it!

Jumping to this look I’m wearing, I’ve been looking forward to sharing this denim shirt dress with you! It’s such a comfortable and versatile piece for me. It feels very flattering on my body and I love that it can go with so many pairs of shoes. I decided to rock my new fringe heels with it here which gives a nice pop of color.

Before I sign off, I have to point out my fabulous Pisces nail polish that I bought from Julep earlier this month. Naturally I’ve had it on for most of the month. Photos do not do it justice of what it looks like in person. It has an iridescentness (I’m making up words here!) to it as the light hits it from different angles. It’s a beautiful color!

What are your plans for Easter Weekend? Let me know in the comments below!

Beach and Chill

image image image image

Hi loves! TGIF!! Oh. My. Goodness. So sorry that I’ve been MIA this week. Last week, I mentioned that I was going to be involved with teaching some Matrix classes  to a salon in Pearl Harbor. My days ended up being about 15 hours each, between mom duties in the morning, and then class the rest of the day. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I even felt comfortable speaking!

This weekend is going to be operation Rest and Recover, aka Beach and  Chill. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be sleeping somewhere in the sand.

Can’t Stop Me

Make it Work

image imageimage image imageGood morning lovelies! Can you believe Christmas is tomorrow?! I’m so excited! Having two little ones in our house certainly makes the holiday all the more magical.

Since my princesses are out of school for break, we are trying to make the most of our time together, and squeeze in all the beach days we possibly can before we’re back to the daily grind. I was hoping to spend time at Kailua Beach because it’s one of our favorites, but the President and his family are here for the holidays, and I haven’t wanted to risk getting stuck in traffic because of road closures for their commuting. I could monitor it online, but that has just been effort that I haven’t felt like putting forth! Ha! Lucky for us, we have a beach that’s 2 miles from our house, and that’s precisely where you’ll find us.

I hope everyone has a fab Christmas Eve!

and the ocean taught her how to drown in all the things bigger than herself. the ocean loved her and knew everything that made her. and every time she’d walk to the shore, she’d smile at the ocean because the waves told her story.

The One

image image image image image imageHappy Monday dears! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Last week was particularly stressful for me, so when my husband woke me up on Saturday morning and told me his plan of hitting the mall real quick and then beachin’ it all day, I was in!

This was also a major plus because when my mom was visiting me, we were shopping and I found this black one piece at Nordstrom and instantly fell in love. I didn’t snag it right away because I wanted to be sure that it was “the one”, but after looking around at every store I could think of, I couldn’t take my mind off it. The next weekend I brought it home with me.

This suit is by L Space and it fits like a glove. The quality feels amazing and it holds everything in place, which is a must when you’ve had two children! I think this might be my favorite suit ever! What do you think?

The Beach Missed Me

imageIt’s been about a month since I last went to the beach. Can you even believe it?! Life has just been so busy, I haven’t had a moment to simply go and enjoy it. I was beginning to wonder if the beach missed me.

Yesterday, I made a point to have a beach day with my girls since they are on fall break and I had the day free. We went to Ala Moana being that it’s the closest beach to our house. It was simply wonderful. I even found a coconut shell. If that’s not a reason to be happy, well, then I don’t know what is!

Have a fab weekend my lovlies!

Aloha! If you are reading this, you’re part of history. This is my first post of my all new blog and I’m so excited to be sharing it with you!

My life is very different from what it was a couple months ago. Together my husband and I packed up our family and started a new life on the island of Oahu. So far, this adventure is everything I hoped for.

I’ve lived in Washington most of my life (with a brief intermission in Vancouver, B.C.), but even so, I was constantly on the move. In my adult life, I’ve moved about 15 times.

I would so love if you’d join me on my flight through the island. You never know where I may end up drifting to next, but I hope to stay put for a while. There’s still much wandering for me here.
